In the bible we are told that Saint Peter was given the Keys to the Kingdom of Heaven and whilst he was in Jail an Angel descended from heaven and opened up the prison for him so he could escape. As a result of this symbolism and association with both opening doors, having *THE* Master Keys, in folk traditions this has lead to his association with opening roads, clearing out chaos from people's lives and the slightly more sinister "skeleton key". It is said that Saint Peter can open the gates of Heaven or Hell to the spiritual aspirant.
Elsewhere on this blog you will find a folk spell to open your roads by making such a "Master Key". This key can be put on spiritual altars dedicated to Saint Peter, carried on your person in a mojo bag or used as a charm when you need doors opened for you, or conversely when you need them closed. Call on Saint Peter with Faith and Prayer and he can do all things.
The folk practice of foot-washing goes back to African Magic. In parts of Africa it is believed that taking dirt from someone's foot prints gives you a "hook" or "link" into their energy, and so it can be used for good or bad to influence their life and luck. Similarly, placing down powders or herbal combinations in the path of an enemy or friend can bring them blessings or ill depending on the formulae and the intention. It is for this reason, and following on from the example of Christ in the Bible washing the feet of the Apostles to give them a new beginning that the practice of foot-washing has evolved. There are many different formulas, some store bought, some which you can make yourself which are available. I will include a very simple one here which can be used but as always it's only here for informational purposes.
An example of very simple Road Opening Foot-washing Ceremony:
Anoint three Orange or Yellow Candles with either Road Opening or Van Van Oil, place in suitable fireproof holders and ask for the blessing of Saint Peter on the work ahead.
Take a large bowl or tub and fill it half way to the top with warm water. To this water add Kosher Salt, Holy Water and Van Van Oil or Road Opening Oil. Ask Saint Peter to bless the wash, and draw the sign of the cross over the wash in the Name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost.
You might also like to pray a Psalm, something like Psalm 51 - to remove curses / hex's / spells / psychic debris. You could also use Psalm 23 to bring in good strong prosperity and well being influences whilst you wash your feet.
Wash the water in a downward motion to rinse away that which no longer serves your higher good, and draw the water up your feet to draw in the positive influences from the Van Van oil.
After this, gently dry your feet and dispose of the water in an appropriate manner. You may wish to burn some money drawing incense or prosperity incense, generally something good and restorative and just take some time to relax.
